Provisional squad: Robinson (Tottenham), James (Manchester City), Green (Norwich); G Neville (Manchester United), Ferdinand (Manchester United), Terry (Chelsea), Cole (Arsenal), Campbell (Arsenal), Carragher (Liverpool), Bridge (Chelsea), Beckham (Real Madrid), Carrick (Tottenham), Lampard (Chelsea), Gerrard (Liverpool), Hargreaves (Bayern Munich), Jenas (Totenham), Downing (Middlesbrough), J Cole (Chelsea), Lennon (Tottenham), Rooney (Manchester United), Owen (Newcastle), Crouch (Liverpool), Walcott (Arsenal).
Standby: Scott Carson (Liverpool), Luke Young (Charlton), Nigel Reo-Coker (West Ham), Jermain Defoe (Tottenham), Andy Johnson (Crystal Palace).
More than a little bit worried about this! who's going to play up front?!! a little kid who has not even played for arsenal yet?!
no place at all for wright-philips, not even in the standby list.

I really hope theo gets a chance and proves me wrong but i just dont think you can do well in a world cup with so little experience, he has only played about 10 career games hasnt he?! and those were in the championship.
I suppose the world cup could make an instant star out of him though, good luck to the lad

suppose we just have to trust sven and his decisions...im sure he wouldnt of picked theo for the squad if he didnt think he could handle it

More than a little worried about the squad, but we have to keep the faith!
Walcott has only made 23 appereances at championship level, so cant help but feel a little skeptical about him getting international experience before premiership experience. Sven has taken a big gamble in taking him...and I really hope it pays of

interesting decision to leave out SWP. He was always going to pick OH (maybe his son?!) As for Theo - he looked good in the Championship and scored a couple of crackers. This will make or break him!

The lack of cover up front is a slight concern. So personally, i'd of liked to have seen Defoe included, instead of Hargreaves. But hopefully Sven knows what he's doing.

Not a bad squad from Sven, the only problem i have is like most people with the guys up front. I don't mind the inclusion of Walcott, i am quite excited in a way but if he does not work out we could be in big trouble.
I would of ditched Hargreaves for another striker, if we need that holding player we can use Carrick. We could of taken Defoe or Bent and that would of given us the options up front.

I had a feeling he would take Walcott, and i think he will use Cole up front while Rooney is injured. Gutted for Defoe thought he would of taken him just incase Owen is struggling.
Sven the gambling man

I would like to say that I am pleased that Sven has finally grown some balls and made some controversial decisions, just hope they pay off

Bent must be gutted top premiership goal scorer and not even on the standby list

Bent must be gutted top premiership goal scorer and not even on the standby list fair point - good player but not world cup standard - then again neither are some of the others picked!
