Couple of films interest this month for me.
The classic re-make of the hitch hiker and the curse of the golden flower
Friday 6th April
Blades Of Glory
Will Ferrell and Napoleon Dynamite's Jon Heder take to the ice as two banned Olympic ice skaters competing as a very special pair.
Reno 911!: Miami
Danny Devito stars in this comedy series spinoff. A rag-tag team of Reno cops are called in to save the day after a terrorist attack disrupts a national police convention.
Sunshine
Danny Boyle goes sci-fi with a Solaris-sounding tale about a space crew's mental and physical disintegration on a mission to the sun. Could well be a classic.
The Hitcher
The 1987 stalker horror hits the road again with Sean Bean instead of Rutger Hauer as the hitchhiker from hell.
Friday 13th April
Curse Of The Golden Flower
Another sumptuous blend of martial artistry and moving love story, from Zhang 'The House Of Flying Daggers' Yimou, starring Chow Yun-Fat and Gong Li. An ill-fated romance between an imperial bodyguard and a prince threatens to reveal royal family secrets.
Perfect Stranger
Halle Berry's reporter investigates a murder case - and Bruce Willis' suspicious multi-millionaire - in this cyber-thriller from Confidence director James Foley.
Reign Over Me
Adam Sandler is the surprise choice to play a grieving man who lost his family on September 11th. Don Cheadle, Jada Pinkett-Smith and Liv Tyler help him to rebuild his life.
The Reaping
Hilary Swank is a lapsed Christian and professional religious debunker who investigates the reappearance of the biblical plagues in America's Deep South.
Wild Hogs
Tim Allen and William H Macy lead a band of wannabe easy riders from the 'burbs who hit the road - and then encounter the genuine thing.
Friday 20th April
Half Nelson
Acclaimed newcomer Ryan Gosling leads as a young teacher at an inner city high school whose disillusionment gives way to drug addiction and results in an unlikely but powerful friendship with a pupil.
Straightheads
Brit director Dan Reed brings us this dark, disturbing thriller about a middle-class couple who go on a violent rampage after a vicious gang attack. Gillian Anderson and Danny Dyer star.
The Breed
Michelle Rodriguez stars in this limp teen horror about a gang of students who fly to a 'deserted' island for a party weekend and are greeted by unfriendly canines.
The Kingdom
Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Garner and Chris Cooper star in a thriller following US government agents investigating a bombing in the Middle East.
The Painted Veil
Edward Norton and Naomi Watts star as an estranged husband and wife who find new purpose in 1920s Shanghai at the time of the cholera epidemic, in Somerset Maugham's luscious love story.
Friday 27th April
Lucky You
Eric Bana's long-postponed Las Vegas drama about a poker player and the girl (Drew Barrymore) who tries to save him from his personal demons.
Pathfinder
Remake of a Norwegian classic about a Viking boy raised by the Native Americans who killed his clan. Music helmer Marcus Nispel is the man in the director's chair.
